BSc, MSc, PhD, PGDip
Alison is CEO and Co-Founder of Relevium Medical, where she leads overall company strategy and execution. She holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc and PhD in Biochemical Engineering, and built her early career at Roche, Boston Scientific and Cook Medical before completing the Stanford BioDesign-affiliated BioInnovate Fellowship. It was there, confronted directly with patients' frustration over the lack of effective osteoarthritis treatments, that she set out to build a superior alternative, which ultimately led to the creation of Relevium Medical, which has secured over €8 million in non-dilutive funding alongside seed investment from Y-Combinator and other investors. Alison is a named inventor on 21 patents and was awarded Science Foundation Ireland's €1 million innovation prize for her work in the field.
Alison loves the wildness of the Irish western Atlantic and enjoys sea swimming at the crack of dawn, year-round, at the famous Blackrock tower in Galway, and spending time with family.
